Not true at all, a lot of people understand how the game works which is why they don't run his build. This is somewhat of a unique class I guess and works much differently than flame damage and/or stamina toons. You really have to know the mag sorc class and be familiar with all the skills and how they work with the gear, proccing, concussed, off-balance, etc. Unless someone's seen Xynode's video and had a good explanation about how maelstrom works with wall of elements and all the other details of how a lightning focused mag sorc can do crazy damage, they won't really understand. I'm very successful at the game as well so there's really no reason for me to change. I like the mag sorc class and I like how I play and have fun. I know all the meta chasers will tell me I'm doing something wrong and that's ok. My single-target damage is high enough because I heavy attack, and every single thing about my character is designed for max damage on heavy attack.
It's so effective (see the easy mag sorc video by xynode) that I see no reason to change how I like to play for a little more dps.
I already run 4-player dungeons and in almost every single one I have the best dps, or maybe it just seems like it because I'm beating everyone to the mobs and my AOE kills almost everything before any other player has even reached that point in the dungeon. But sitting around for days just practicing a rotation to get another 10% dps just isn't something I want to do. I do have ways I can improve even more by finishing with transmuting my gear to the maximized traits and tweaking my CP a little more. I'm already very high CP and honestly, most of the content in the game is barely a challenge at this point. I play the game after a long day at work and just want to relax. I am only using 1-bar because having to memorize complex rotations of skills, and needing to be able to bar swap, while doing all of this at a very fast and precise pace, just plain and simple doesn't sound like fun to me.
